FAITHFUL THROUGH THE YEARS: CELEBRATING CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
MACS continues its rich tradition of gathering annually to provide teachers with opportunities for professional enrichment, Christian fellowship, and spiritual encouragement. This special time together strengthens our shared calling to provide quality Christian education to the students and families we serve.
Dr. Schmig shared, “This was a wonderful time of fellowship and blessing for all of us in Christian Education. This is nothing new to us. I found in my files the convention book from 1974. Of course, we have adjusted our program along the way. It was interesting to see that the convention used to begin on Wednesday with an evening preaching service to set the tone for the time together. The Thursday and Friday schedule was packed with workshops and sermons, and the conference concluded Friday evening with a closing rally and preaching session.”
This year’s convention featured soul-stirring messages from Evangelist Dave Young. Teachers were challenged to fulfill their calling with joyfulness, grace, and gratitude.
Friday morning, during the Pastors and Administrators Breakfast, Dr. Schmig provided an update on the Federal Education Freedom Tax Credit. He encouraged everyone to visit accordkids.org to learn more about how the program works and how our schools may benefit from additional funding.
Another highlight of the convention was the $10 gift of “Convention Cash” given to each teacher to visit exhibitors and purchase items for their classrooms.
MACS would like to extend special recognition to Kat Hartwig of Genesee Christian School for her outstanding work coordinating the convention. From managing registrations and assisting exhibitors to navigating the convention app for the first time, Kat came through with flying colors! She is a valuable addition to the MACS team, and we are grateful for her dedication and hard work.
Thank you to everyone who prayed for the success of our time together. Your prayers were answered in abundance!
Looking ahead, the 2027 MACS Tri-State Convention will be held September 30–October 1, 2027, at Lewis Avenue Baptist Church in Temperance, Michigan. We look forward to welcoming teachers from Indiana and Ohio as we gather once again for fellowship, encouragement, and professional enrichment.
Mark your calendars and begin praying for another wonderful convention!
