Dear School Leader,We work hard not to overwhelm you with notices and alerts. We know what it’s like to receive multiple communications with little or no relevance to your daily work in Christian education. We also know that you have heard frequently from us and many other good organizations about the dangers the Equality Act poses for all Americans to practice a natural and traditional biblical understanding of the design and purpose of human sexuality and gender. The deceptively named Equality Act would fundamentally change American law and culture by forcing scores of millions of citizens to lay aside their values. It
The leadership of MACS has not changed our position on in person schooling. In light of the Governor’s recommendations, we are still recommending in person schooling for students. Our Tournaments and Fine Arts schedule will proceed as planned. As always, we urge you to be sensitive to parents' concerns and put in reasonable effort for health and safety and that you monitor students’ health. There may be times when distance learning is needed. If you have questions for us, Dr. Jackson and I are here for you whether it be a phone call or a Zoom call to help you. Tim
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer's most recent executive order stated that all fall sports may resume. As you know MACS has encouraged fall sports to continue for our schools prior to this executive order but we do ask that all schools be mindful of keeping student athletes, coaches, officials and fans safe. Please encourage safe distancing and sanitization protocols. Thank you for your support of MACS and have a great season.
Many of you have asked (and wondered) what is going on in Lansing with our Governor's Executive Orders and how they will impact school opening in the fall. Me too. Here is an opportunity for you to listen directly to one of our own MACS attorneys David Kallman and MACS legislative counselor Professor William Wagner. I'm scheduling a MACS Town Hall Conference Call with these men for Monday July 20 at 10:15 am. This call will be informative to any Christian School Pastor or Administrator and any Homeschool parent so they are welcome to join in. The MACS Town Hall Conference Call will last
Many of you have asked how can you be a help to our good friends at Calvary Baptist Church of Midland and Community Baptist Church of Saginaw who have had members that have been affected by the recent flooding. The loss they experienced can be heartbreaking and your willingness to help is a blessing. Here are some links you can use to be an encouragement to the members at Calvary Baptist Church in Midland. You may also contact community Baptist Church in Saginaw to see what needs their members affected by the flood might have. The Bible says as we have
The leadership of MACS is here for you. The blessings of our Christian Schools is that we are nimble and we can adjust quickly to the changing landscape. We are praying and planning for our schools to open up normally this fall. If you have questions for us, Dr. Jackson and I are here for you whether it be a phone call or a Zoom call to help you. Many of you have asked (and wondered) what is going on in Lansing with our State Government. Since the Capitol Building is closed to visitors, I haven't been able to make my regular Wednesday legislative visits with our State Representatives and State Senators. I have kept in contact with their offices through phone calls and emails, but it's just not the same. So here is an opportunity for you to listen directly to our own MACS Graduate and State representative Phil Green. I'm scheduling a MACS Town Hall Conference Call with State Representative Phil Green for this Thursday April 9 at 3:15.
Friends of MACS and Camp CoBeAc, The Michigan Pastor’s Alliance has called for a day of prayer on Monday April 6. Covid-19 has encouraged all of us to lift our national and state leaders, first responders and loved ones in prayer. Jeremiah 33:3 "Call unto me and I will answer thee and shew thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not." Last week I heard the number one Bible verse searched on the internet was Philippians 4:6 -7encouraging us to "be careful for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto
Student safety is one of our highest priorities and while we do not know the extent of the COVID-19 virus infections in the State of Michigan we believe it is in the best interest of our students, parents and grandparents to cancel completely our MACS Jr. High Fine Arts Festival scheduled at First Baptist Church Troy, Michigan for Friday, April 24, 2020. With prayerful consideration, we factored into this decision our Governor’s mandated school closing until April 6 and scheduled school closings in observance of Easter Break prior to our scheduled MACS Junior High Fine Arts Festival. To our parents and
